KAKO BAND Concert
KAKO BAND Concert
Stage design and live visuals for KAKO BAND
As another collaboration with the director Aladdin Pojhan, CODON was responsible for the stage design, real time graphics and live video mapping for Kako band’s first live appearance, which was held at Milad concert hall/Tehran.
Stage Design.
Since our past collaborations with Rebel Eyes Entertainment and our mutual interests on mapping panorama screens on stage in different ratios and shapes, the stage for this concert was designed in the same way but with a new twist to its structure. The panorama screen designed by CODON included 7 screens, each 6 meters high, and for the width the screens were divided into 2 different groups, one 150 centimeters and the other 2 meters, put together in way that gave the graphics a physical depth. The reason we decided to have our panorama screen made out of multiple screens was to be able to have individual access to different
parts during the show as well as having them show a single frame all together.
As for the mapping we used 2 x 12000 lumens beamers, placed on the ceiling to cover the panorama screen and 2 x 5000 lumens beamers for the table placed on the stage.
Another interesting part of the stage was the band’s own table which was made in a low poly arc shape with 7 faces which inspired the whole design of the stage. It was also 3D mapped, complementing the panorama screen.
For the real time graphics, we used VVVV to create 11 different patches, all reacting to the music of each track. For some parts of the concert including the table we used pre-rendered 3D graphics using visual effects techniques along with a chroma key shooting session for different tracks, done by CODON.
